Save the date for the 2021 CROP Hunger Walk – September 26, 2021!
We will gather with others in our community to fight hunger both here and around the world. We need walkers and sponsors!
This year, Asheville’s CROP Walk 2021 will be a combination. Both in person and virtual options will be available for teams. The walk will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., starting and ending at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 10 N. Liberty St. Pre–walk activities will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Walkers can participate in the community walk or they may walk as a group anywhere they choose. Last year, we held a virtual walk and thanks to you, were very successful. We raised over $15,500! We look forward to seeing folks in person or receiving pictures of their walk, celebrating that together we are preventing food insecurity. Please let Lisa Payne or Dan Dudde know of your walk location and team captain so a member of our planning committee can get your materials to you.
We’re also looking for congregations, groups, and businesses to be “Sponsors”. Sponsorships are needed to help offset operating costs so that 100% of the walker money can go to our hunger fighting agencies. The sponsorship amount is $250.00. All sponsors will be given and recognized on an official banner. Additional sponsor recognition will be through social media promotion and on walk day. Everybody should participate! CROP Hunger walks are a community event involving everyone who wants to fight hunger around the block and around the world. The Asheville event is encouraging teams and individuals from all faith groups, schools, colleges, clubs, organizations, civic groups, and area businesses to participate. Together, we can come back to CROP either in person or online to make a huge impact in this fight against hunger.
