ABCCM's Return to Bethlehem is the longest running Nativity production in North Carolina and is again graciously hosted at Groce United Methodist Church on December 1-4. Over fifty volunteer actors, dozens of local musicians, live animals, and many more come together to reenact first century Bethlehem under Roman rule which was the humble and culturally tense backdrop in which the baby Jesus was born. Return to Bethlehem is a gift back to the community from ABCCM's staff and its 300 member churches intended to make this a lasting Christmas tradition for all. If you would like more information about volunteering for this event please contact jim.brewer@abccm.org.

Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry has for more than 40 years provided Christmas for families in crisis. There is always a need in every community and we are here to try and alleviate the hardships facing our neighbors and bring joy to this season of giving.

How Can You Help?

  • Support/Sponsor a family: Fulfill a wish list for children in one family. (Call or email to become an angel for children in one family.)

  • Support our Toy Drive: Visit one of our Christmas Trees throughout the Community and fulfill a wish. We accept new, unwrapped toys and other items, especially winter coats and winter attire for children of all ages. Monetary donations are also accepted to help us fill gaps in gifts for specific ages or genders (click here for a handy shopping list of suggested gifts!)

  • Volunteer: Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and on Saturday 10am-4pm. Administrative assistance is always needed!

Ingles Food Pantry

Ingles Markets, IHeartMedia, WLOS, and ABCCM created the Ingles Kids Pantry to feed thousands of children in Buncombe County whose families need help supplying enough food at home. Join us in making a difference. All Buncombe County Ingles Markets will have special Ingles Kids Pantry areas. Purchase and place nutritious non-perishable foods in the Ingles Kids Pantry boxes located at the front of the store. Everyone in the area can also donate during the Ingles Kids Pantry special event at the 29 Tunnel Road Store from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 9th. WLOS, 570WWNC, Rock 104.3 and others will be broadcasting throughout the day from the Tunnel Road Ingles. ABCCM volunteers and others will load an Ingles Tractor Trailer with all the food collected. The food you donate will then be sorted, boxed, and delivered to schools throughout Buncombe County to directly feed thousands of children and their families struggling with food insecurity when school is not in session. You can also greatly help through monetary donations to https://www.abccm.org/ingles-kids-pantry. 100% of your donation will go to purchase food for this worthy cause. Come and fill the Ingles Kids Pantry with food and hope for thousands of school-aged children and families in Buncombe County.
